Monaco - The Wealthy Conclave of Europe

Posted on December 26, 2023 by William Anderson

Perched on the Mediterranean Ocean, Monaco is really a picturesque country. With high prices, most travelers can only just afford to invest 1 day in this conclave for the rich.

Monaco

The principality of Monaco is really a bizarre little place. Situated to the east of the French Riviera, the united states is quite small and dominated by the town of Monte Carlo. Everything in the principality suits the wealthy, so budget travelers beware.

Historically, the Grimaldi royal family has and continues to dominate Monaco. There influence is everywhere and, as you might have noticed, one of these appears to be in tabloid news each day. Regardless, they will have managed to stay static in power since way back when and turned Monaco in to the expat haven of Europe through lax tax laws.

Monte Carlo

Monte Carlo may be the only city of significance in Monaco. The town is perched above the ocean and fairly dramatic. There's a vintage Europe charm, but modern hotels, resorts and so forth are blended in nicely. Rather than Ford or Toyota dealerships, Monaco is peppered with Ferrari and Porsche stores. This upgrade in expense occurs consistently through the entire city in fact it is the only real place I've ever paid $75 for supper in a Mexican restaurant.

No reference to Monte Carlo will be complete without mentioning Formula One racing. Each year, the town hosts the Monaco Grand Prix on the tiny streets of the town. The race is really a bit boring since it 's almost impossible to pass, but attending the race is certainly something you need to do at least one time.

The Monaco Grand Prix may be the developing party for the extremely wealth. The harbor is filled with yachts that produce an oil tanker look small. There's more jewelry and glitz than possible. The decadence factor is through the roof and individuals watching aspect is incredibly entertaining. Even if you come away a little disgusted by the over indulgence, you'll definitely come away with the right stories.

Monaco and Monte Carlo are worth a one-day trip in case you are visiting the French Riviera. Just make certain you've heated up your bank cards.
